Haines Borough Comprehensive Plan Revision

We're Revising the 2012 Comprehensive Plan!

The updated Haines Borough Comprehensive Plan will be a combination of long-term vision, goals, and practical strategies that will guide decisions about land use, transportation, utilities, economic development housing, and more. It will provide a roadmap for implementation, with clear priorities and actions. The current comprehensive plan was last updated in 2012.

The Planning Team

The Haines Borough has hired a team led by Agnew::Beck Consulting to assist the Borough with a revision of the Comprehensive Plan. Agnew::Beck is partnering with Rain Coast Data, Corvus Design, and RESPEC  to ensure the planning process, and ultimately the final plan, meets community needs. How to be involved

We want to hear from you! There are many ways to engage with the Comprehensive Plan revision throughout the process.

Respond to the Community Survey

This 5-minute survey is for Borough residents of all ages. Survey responses are completely confidential. As a thank you for taking the survey, you can enter at the end of the survey to win $100 of groceries, $50 of fuel, or $25 in coffee at the local establishment of your choice. The survey is open through August 31^st, 2023.

Join us during community events

• The planning team visited Haines June 19-22 for a series of community and stakeholder meetings. The recordings of those meetings are below (coming soon.)
• We are coming back to Haines July 21-24 and are planning events in the Upper Valley and in town. Stay tuned for more details!
• We will continue to plan community visits throughout the process; watch for details here. Members of the Haines Planning Commission and volunteers will also be hosting a booth at the Southeast Alaska State Fair July 27-30. Be sure to stop by to visit with them about the Comprehensive Plan Revision.
